Foundation Art Academy
is Different

There are many businesses and organizations in the Erie area, as well as innumerable online platforms, that offer the chance for students to let their creative juices flow: from art camps and craft classes, to dance studios and more. The Foundation Art Academy curricula allow students to partake in the most satisfying aspects of art making while also imparting technical and conceptual skills through scaffolded student learning objectives and extended in-studio contact hours.

Art and design fill our lives in even the most mundane ways. Your car, your clothes, your cartoons and movies, the couch you are sitting on, the potato chip bag you are holding, the artworks that fill the museum downtown: all of these items have been created by artists and designers. They would not look, function, or feel as they do without a person, or team of people, who spent time studying the fundamental elements and principles of art and design. These elements and principles are the core of FAA’s curriculum and provide the foundation necessary for professional and creative growth.

Come One, Come All!

Foundation Art Academy courses are made for all students, including:

  • Youth & adults with minimal experience who may like to pursue art or design as a career.

  • Creatives who want to return to art making after taking a hiatus.

  • Current artists and designers who want to fine tune their skills.

  • Hobbyists or new artists who want to expand their professional skills and improve their exhibition or grant proposal acceptance rate.

  • Anyone who wishes to engage with art and design practices through rigorous curricula to discover the limitless possibilities of their creativity and the multitude of tools at their disposal.
